From preparation to mounting and shipping, we’ve got all your needs covered.
After a successful hunt, you have a couple of options for preserving your trophies:
Alternative 1: Dip & Pack You can have your trophies chemically treated and packed in South Africa. This is a legal requirement for them to enter the United States. Once they arrive, your preferred taxidermist in the US will complete the mounts.
Alternative 2: South African Taxidermist You can have the full taxidermy work completed in South Africa and then have the finished mounts shipped to you. This is a great way to save money, as labor is considerably cheaper.
Working with Nick Bowker Hunting Safaris
Regardless of which option you choose, we will take care of all the field preparation and delivery of your trophies to the taxidermist. This is included in your hunting package. Our experienced skinners have a legacy of expertise in field preparation to ensure your trophies are handled with the utmost care.
We also work with trusted partners, African Wildlife Artistry. Once you have decided on your mounts, we will make sure everything is done to your specifications, from the direction of the mount to the type of pedestal. The taxidermists will keep you updated on the progress, which typically takes 8 to 12 months from the date of deposit.
When your trophies are ready to be shipped, your clearing agent will contact you for payment and delivery information. They will also let you know if any import permits are needed for CITES animals.

A 50% deposit and all taxidermy instructions are required before we begin work, with the remaining balance to be paid before your trophies are shipped.
